Senior Software Developer (eForms Developer)Salary: £31,365 to £37,890Hours:37.5hrs per weekPermanentThis area of the organisation responsible for the design, development, delivery and service management of ICT systems. We play a key role in the delivery of safe, effective healthcare for patients across the whole of Wales. This means ensuring that whilst IT systems store information securely, they also allow the relevant information to be available to the right staff, in the right place, at the right time across to support patient care.What you will be doingWe are seeking a talented software developer to work on the production of national clinical eForms. You will be mainly working with XForms and SQL Server. Youll focus on building new interactive/dynamic eForms for our clinical information applications from user requirements utilising the Orbeon Forms engine. You will need to integrate eForms with web services so knowledge of programming languages such as C#.Net will be required. You will also be expected to create and maintain documentation.Youll join a dynamic development team writing software for national applications using the agile development methodology. You shall also be expected to provide support for the eForms solution and its enterprise environment.What we are looking forThe ideal candidate will have proven experience and skills in the following areas but we will also accept applications from candidates who can demonstrate an aptitude to develop and learn these essential skills quickly:-*XForms, XML and XSLT*eForms user experience design*eForms development in Orbeon Forms engine or alternative*Apache Tomcat / IIS*HTML, CSS and JavaScript*C#.NET / Java*Database application development particularly Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL*Strong communication skillsYou will also have a strong desire to develop your skills in:-*Software Development Life Cycle preferably using Agile methodologies such as SCRUM*OOP, unit testing and software design patterns*Application Lifecycle Management using TFS 2013 and MSF for Agile.*Test Driven DevelopmentWhat we are looking for*You want the opportunity to work on a continuous stream of new enterprise developments using new tech.*You want to improve your skills by attending industry seminars, our own in-house workshops and workshops run by suppliers such as Microsoft and Redgate*Youre interested in job security tied to a good salary and pension bundle.*But above all you want to build good software systems that deliver better care to those who need it!The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
