Job Description

The Senior Payroll Officer will act as a liaison between the Head of Finance, Financial Controller, and the employees. Additionally, they will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll function to guarantee 100% accuracy in compliance, zeroerrors, and efficient management of a trustworthy and reliable department.Client DetailsOur client is an industry leader in the Leisure and Sport sector. They are looking for s Senior Payroll Officer to facilitate clear communication and timely resolution of all payroll-related inquiries. An excellent next step for an experienced Payroll Officer.DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Officer include but are not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for end to end monthly payroll
  • Weekly expenses
  • All payroll calculations, deductions and payments
  • Reporting
  • Processing of new starters
  • processing all leavers
  • RTI submissions and HMRC reconciliations
  • Producing payslips/P45s/P60s/P11Ds
  • Month end payroll reports and journals
  • Knowledge of regulations relating to payroll
  • Internal audits
  • Liaising with external and third party companies
  • Maintenance of internal employee database
ProfileThe successful candidate to the role of Senior Payroll Officer will have:
  • In-depth knowledge of all payroll processes
  • Ability to achieve all objectives within agreed timescales
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to use own initiative to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and IT skills are essential
  • Intermediate Excel experience and working knowledge essential
  • Robust in problem solving and independent when providing expert advice or solutions to pay related issues
  • Credible experience in communication skills - Has the ability to adapt communication style to meet the need of the person and or situation
  • Proven ability to deal with conflict situations
  • Strong adaptability to pace and pressure points
  • Have experience in a similar role, i.e. Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer, Payroll Executive, Payroll Manager
  • Ad-Hoc projects as required (i.e. to assist in research and contribute to any review in payroll/system processes)
