Job Description

Senior Network EngineerCardiff / HybridUp to £50000Yolk Recruitment are partnered with an expanding Fintech company in Cardiff looking to recruit a Senior Network Engineer to their expanding Infrastructure team.Their Network environment is highly complex comprising of multi-vendor on premise & cloud-based servers. Ideally you will have will have an excellent foundation in 3rd line support within Windows & Linux environments with strong Cisco experience (ideally CCNAlevel). If successful you will be involved in the scaling, maintenance & improvement of their Network Infrastructure.They are based in modern recently refurbished offices in Cardiff & have a very flexible approach to hybrid working. Ideally you will have the flexibility to work in the office once or twice per week.This is what youll be doing:

  • Design, configure & implementationof: Core Network services, Automated infrastructure configuration & deployment, Availability monitoring / reporting tools, Capacity management & availability, Managing faults with ISPs/third parties
  • Defining core network infrastructure technical architecture
  • Scale and optimize network infrastructure systems continuously to support business growth
  • Maintain complete technical solution documentation
The experienceyoull bring to the team:
  • 3-5 years commercial experience of enterprise grade networking hardware installation and support (inc. switches, firewalls, routers, Wi-Fi access points)
  • In depth Knowledge of LAN/WLAN/WAN support for voice, data and video networks
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, layer 2 and layer 3 routing, IPsec/SSL VPNs
  • Working knowledge of MPLS and hybrid cloud network connectivity IPSEC/Direct Connect
  • Network performance evaluation, monitoring and optimization experience
  • Supporting Linux and Windows server2012(R2) -2019 network stacks
