Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and professional Windows & Infrastructure Administrator to join the Data Centre Services Team. The team comprises several sub teams for each technology area. The team is responsible for delivering and supporting all wales mission critical infrastructure services.Ideal candidateThe ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of five or more of the following:Operating Systems:

  • Managing and Monitoring Windows Server 2008 – 2019
  • Clustering
  • DFS & DFS-R
  • Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • File and Storage Services
  • Storage Spaces Direct
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Virtualisation:
  • Managing & Monitoring VMware & vCenter
  • Managing & Monitoring Hyper V
  • System Centre Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • Server & Storage:
  • Direct Attached Storage
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure
  • Managing & Monitoring Rack Servers
  • Managing & Monitoring Blade Servers & Enclosures
  • Managing & Monitoring Tape Libraries
  • 3PAR San Storage Management & Monitoring
  • Fibre Channel Network Management & Monitoring
  • Backup:
  • Managing & Monitoring Netbackup
  • Managing & Monitoring BackupExec
  • Networking: Fundamentals of TCP/IP, networking interfaces and routing.Security: key security principles (Confidentiality, Integrity & Availability)The following skills and qualifications would be beneficial:Scripting & Automation: PowerShellQualifications:
  • Exam 70-740 - Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016

  • Manage and maintain the national services used to provide critical systems to NHS Wales.
  • Respond to incidents, manage problems and implement change for services that the post holder is responsible.
