A fast growing professional services consultancy in South Wales is currently looking to add to their Infrastructure Engineering team. The team enjoy a mix of agile and remote working and are a close knit and established department of IT professionals. The business is operating fully remote and this position will stay that way after Covid, however the successful candidate would need to be able to get access to Cardiff Office when requested. Core duties will include Proactive infrastructure maintenance and infrastructure design, project work and occasional 3rd line support, but will generally be pretty varied. As the business continues to expand there will be opportunities for career progression and you will be actively encouraged to train and gain certifications. Core responsibilities;*Manage, maintain and develop the companys IAAS platform and DRAAS platforms*Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on all projects that will utilise either platform*Design and carry out proactive improvement projects throughout the estate in response to trends detected via the helpdesk.*Work with the project team to analyse customers infrastructures and recommend appropriate improvements/changes/overhauls.*Drive the companys adoption of new technologies appropriate to the client base.Tools and Technologies;*Deep knowledge of virtualisation technologies - in particular vmware.*Virtual Networking -vlans, vpns etc*Configuring and troubleshooting SANs, NASs and firewalls.*VMware horizon*Backup technologies and best practices - in particular Veeam.*Office 365 and Azure*Windows Server InfrastructureIf you would like to find out more about this role then please get in touch with Dan Newton at Acorn Recruitment.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
