Job Title: Senior Information & Data Risk SpecialistLocation: Cardiff - Fully RemoteSalary: £45,000 - £60,000 + benefitsAre you an experienced Information & Data Risk Specialist looking for your next challenge If so this could be the ideal opportunity for you. My client, a leading financial services business and a household name with an excellent reputation are currentlyinvesting heavily within their Data Operations team. As part of this investment they are building out what will be a best practice Data Assurance & Governance team and are looking to hire an experienced Senior Information & Data Risk Specialist to join theteam.As the Senior Information & Data Risk Specialist you will support the Data Assurance Operations Manager, Information Risk team, Data Quality team and the wider Data Assurance team through a range of managing, coaching, and prioritising the delivery of the teamswork in order to provide the business with their data assurance needs. As a key member of the broader Data Assurance team, you will create an environment of collaboration, agility, innovation and ownership in support of the DataOps team and overall businessambitions.Key responsibilities* Assist in developing and facilitating the Information and Data Risk Management Framework, including Control Testing, Risk and Control Self-Assessments.* Understand the complex regulatory environment and the implementation of robust regulatory controls.* Provide administrative support to the various risk oversight forums and committees.* Engage with appropriate Second Line of Defence teams to evaluate applicable policies and oversee implementation of policies to the business.* Ensure ongoing monitoring and oversight of implementation of remedial action of changes to policies, procedures, processes and controls within the Business Lines is undertaken.* Work with the wider Risk teams to map the necessary and appropriate business line control environments.* Actively considers the inherent, material risks of data processes and provide solutions.* Oversee the Risk & Control Assessments and Data Quality Assessments with the business lines and ensure assessment of Risk and Control Effectiveness are undertake with the business lines.* Engage with second line of defence and business line teams to create appropriate business continuity plans and records.* Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand, manage and address operational issues and promoting risk and control awareness.* Preparation of board packs and presentation at RMC / BRCC if required.* Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the business.Skills and Experience required* Demonstrable experience of working within a Risk Management Team. * Excellent motivational skills.* Pragmatic and practical, with ability to tailor methods, principles and standards to appropriate situations and audiences.* Excellent communication, for example conveying information to diverse audiences in a way that is easily understood and actionable.* Creative thinking, for example framing new ways of thinking about Information Risk to drive adoption.* Commercially aware, proactive, forward looking, inquisitive and attention to detail.* Relationship management, for example creating relationships and quickly building trust with internal and external stakeholders.* Working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider Risk team.* A strong understanding of the current regulatory landscape, macroeconomic environment, and risk management techniques.* Qualification such as CDMP Practitioner or above highly desirable.For more information or to apply please send a copy of your CV to or drop me a line on .
