Based at their offices in Cardiff, our client is now recruiting for a bright, enthusiastic and motivated Senior Freight Forwarding Officer to join the team in the Freight Forwarding Department.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced freight forwarder to establish themselves within an established global company.You will:* Receive air and sea freight import and export jobs from customers* Review data to confirm accuracy and ensure correct documentation is used* Allocate job to appropriate logistics service providers* Monitor customs declarations* Validate shipment routing against SOP and GDP guidelines for export* Handle transfers and pre-alerts for exports and confirm departure* Deal with handovers and renominations on imports, arranging collection from carriers and onward delivery to customer* Monitor POD* Deal with handover to job administration, keeping internal system updated, complying with customer policies and procedures* Support customer service teams, liaising with external suppliers to monitor job progressIn order to apply for this role, you will have worked for a freight forwarder and ideally be used to multi-modal freight movements, or have handled air freight or sea freight exports or imports.Experience of CargoWise or similar freight management system would be advantageousYou should be good at problem solving, be commercially astute and possess good verbal and written communication skills.Have the ability to work well under pressure with good organisational skills.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
