The Electoral Commission have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Adviser to join the team.Location: Cardiff, WalesSalary: £38,522 per annumJob Type: PermanentDirectorate: Electoral Administration and GuidanceSenior Communications AdviserThe Role:Are you interested in bringing your communications and partnership building skills to an organisation that helps ensure confidence and trust in Welsh electionsWe are looking for an energetic, proactive, and skilled communications professional to help us develop our communications and partnership programme and contribute our expertise and insight to debates about the future of elections in Wales.Senior Communications AdviserKey Responsibilities:- You will work closely with all members of both the Wales and the Digital Communications and Learning teams and will be responsible for developing and delivering the Commissions communications agenda for Welsh electoral events with a particular focus onpartnership and learning- Youll develop and lead on partnerships with schools, youth organisations and organisations working with under-registered groups- Youll co-create high-quality political literacy resources and training- Other areas of work will include our public affairs agenda in Wales and wider public awareness work- You will have responsibility for initiating and driving forward specific programmes of work and projects and providing Wales-specific advice to senior management and colleagues within the CommissionSenior Communications Adviser - You:You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, on your own initiative, as well as part of a collaborative and dynamic team based in Cardiff and London. You will have excellent knowledge of democratic processes in Wales, the ability to use evidenceand problem-solving skills to develop creative communications approaches and excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.The ability to build relationships and to speak authoritatively on behalf of the Electoral Commission Wales is important for this role, and you will use influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes that meet our objectives with a variety of stakeholders,from elected officials to charity partners.Senior Communications Adviser - Working at the Electoral Commission:The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK.
