Job Description

Superb opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician with working knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting, to join a highly successful, reputable, and growing organisation where your commitment and achievements will be appreciated and rewarded.Operating across multiple branches in the UK, this consultancy is a forward thinking Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy working on railway infrastructure, temporary works, buildings, bridges, highways and geotechnics. Established since 1981, the businesshas enjoyed steady growth driven by a committed and highly skilled workforce of over 70 employees.The Senior CAD Technician roleAs the Senior CAD Technician, youll join the close-knit team based within the welcoming and relaxed office, working with other Technicians and Engineers across a wide variety of schemes within the rail, nuclear and building sectors. This office is based incontemporary premesis not far from Cardiff City Centre.Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Drawing and detailing of civil and structural schemes
  • Liaising with the team to ensure drawings are representative of the Engineers designs
  • Drawing reviews and checking of schemes prepared by others in the team
  • Mentoring Junior Technicians
  • Managing projects
What will I receive in returnAs a Senior Technician, you will receive a salary in the region of £35,000 to £40,000 level dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a range of attractive benefits including:

Youll be employed on a permanent contract. There is flexibility with start and finish times available however, the core working hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm.What will I need to be considered for this Senior CAD Technician vacancy
  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician
  • Working within Projectwise, with knowledge of Network Rail or HS2 document control process preferable
  • Working knowledge of UK industry standards and processes
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a high standard of written English
Although not essential, the following would be advantageous:
  • HNC in Construction and the Built Environment (or similar)
  • Knowledge of the civil and structural sectors
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of BIM Level 2
  • Experience of producing GAs from 3D topographical surveys
