Undertake detailed technical approval of highway works submitted for future adoption under Section 38 agreements to ensure compliance with Council standards, including liaison with other relevant teams and service areas as may be appropriate.
Instruct the Legal Section to prepare such agreements including the calculation and provision of associated engineering and commuted maintenance sums - including the preparation of authority reports as required under the constitution.
Maintain digital scheme records such that they are available to the whole S278 / S38 team.
Arrange for the updating of Council records as and when required to reflect the adoption of new roads.
Report to the management team as and when required.
Ensure that appropriate levels of accountability and governance best practice are followed.
Undertake monitoring and reporting of performance towards achievement of goals and objectives.
Organise and participate in meetings, workshops and working groups as appropriate and follow-up on agreed actions.
Act in the public interest and make a meaningful contribution to strategic discussions.
Respond to correspondence relating to the delivery of the S38 scheme.

Person Specification:

Experience of the highways infrastructure design and associated standards is essential to the role.
Experience of integrating Active Travel (public transport, park and ride, cycling and walking) highway schemes is desirable.
