Job Description

Company description Location: CardiffSalary: Competitive + benefitsContract: Full time, permanent This is the job The Sales Manager is responsible for the daily management of the Driving Schools Franchise & Trainee telephone Sales Team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Sales this role is responsible for helping the business hit New Starter targets driven throughthe Sales Team for Trainees completing their course, qualified external ADIs and potentially upsold existing franchisees. Through daily call listening, team meetings, scripting, performance and data analysis the role is to drive the Sales Team to hit (andexceed!) their targets consistently whilst working in an FCA regulated environment. The role will include both inbound and outbound sales calls. The role also is responsible for ensuring the Sales Team are provided with all the necessary tools and supportto achieve their targets, liaising with other parts of the business as necessary to ensure smooth operations. Please note this is not a management only role, the person will be expected to spend c.50% of their time as an active member of the Sales Team onthe phone generating new business and will be targeted accordingly. What will I be doing

  1. New Starter Sales: Ensure the new starter targets for the telephone Sales Team are hit (and exceeded) consistently. This includes but is not limited to Trainees (those wanting to become a Driving Instructor) and fully qualified external ADIs wanting totake a Franchise (full franchise, Solo or Partner Lite)
  2. Sales Team Management: Direct, daily management of the telephone Sales Team, c.6 direct Sales Representatives. Ensuring performance is consistently high, as well as looking for ways to optimise performance. Listening to calls, reviewing scripts and transformingsales operations as required. Ensuring the team are compliant with FCA regulations.
  3. Sales Team Support: Providing the Sale Team with a person to whom they can raise issues with any aspect of their daily activity, such as, but not limited to, customer Credit Checks, vehicle delivery delays, technical issues with any internal or externalsystems on which the Sales Team rely.
  4. ATV (Average Transaction Value): Ensuring that ATV targets are met by optimising how the products are sold through the telephone Sales Team
  5. Data & Analysis: Analyse the sales data and provide regular insights to support future sales, strategy and product decisions. Act as sales representative for any new tech updates/implementation.
  6. Marketing Team Collaboration: As part of the Marketing & Sales team collaborate with other key managers (Comms, PR, SEO, Brand, Digital Acquisition) to support the KPIs for the department and liaise directly on the needs of the Sales Team to help achievethose KPIs
  7. Cross department collaboration: Work with other department managers (Fleet, Retention, Service, DIT, Tech) to share best practice, data insights and analysis of the sales performance, whilst also acting as the point person for all intra-departmental issuesor concerns on behalf of the Sales Team.
What do I need Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
  • 3+ years experience of directly managing a telephone sales team
  • 5+ years experience of working in a telephone sales environment
  • Knowledge of b2b and b2c sales tactics
  • Experience of inbound and outbound telephone sales
  • Demonstrable experience of exceeding sales targets
  • Experience of working within a regulation environment is highly beneficial
