Job Description

RoleResidential Childrens Support WorkerLocationCoryton, Cardiff Salary£18,525.00 to £20,358.00 per annumFull time - 37.5 hours per week (days, nights, and weekends) Nights only available!It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to supporting others. Your patience, empathy and caring nature make you the ideal person to support the individuals who live at our residential home in Coryton, Cardiff.Much of your role will be spent supporting autistic children with day-to-day tasks, enabling them the opportunity to live as independent and fulfilling life as possible. On good days, youll take them on day trips, help them prepare meals and make sure theyregetting out and about enjoying some of Wales beautiful countryside.Other days, youll need to take on a more Carer focused role, helping vulnerable children with personal hygiene and care.Sometimes, if the person youre supporting is having a hard day, youll need to support and keep them safe whilst they calm down. Itsok though, youll be given all the training you need. There will be hard days, but the good days make it all worthwhile.A day in the life of a Residential Childrens Support Workerwith Orbis Education and Care Involves:

  • Providing tailored support to the autistic children using our services
  • Assisting our Supported Individuals with day-to-day tasks and decision making
  • Promoting independence by supporting with a range of educational, social and work-based activities
  • Undertaking general housekeeping duties, plus elements of personal care
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping of all activities, progress, and incidents should they arise
To be a successful Residential Childrens Support Workerwith Orbis Education and Care, youll need:

  • Compassion and empathy
  • Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice
  • The ability to work flexibly
  • Previous care experience preferred but not essential
In return for your Skills and Expertise, youll receive:
  • A salary of £18,525.00 to £20,358.00 based on 37.5 hours per week (days, nights, and weekends)
