Job Description

PURPOSEOur mission is to partner with schools to deliver learner progression. All students from the age of 5 through to 18+, have their own individual learner journeys. Alongside their teachers, Pearson can help them make the progression most appropriate to them,whether onto Further or Higher Education onto Apprenticeships or directly into work. Through a consultative, collaborative sales approach we support our school customers with the right choice of products and services for their learners.The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) drives revenue in their region through the management of a team of Sales Partnership Managers. Responsible for the strategic direction of the region, the RSM will be accountable for the achievement of growth targets acrossMulti Academy Trusts, Chains, Dioceses, Federations, Teaching Alliances, subject hubs, and other large consortia of schools across the 5-19 age range.The RSM will be expected to lead their team with experience, empathy and accountability. Ensuring that their sales team are able to grow personally and grow the revenue of the region. The RSM will also drive growth through strategic relationships with highimportance education leaders in the region.MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIESPEOPLE

  • Recruit, retain, lead and inspire a team to consistently achieve

CUSTOMER
  • Support the team with networking and building relationships with MATs, hubs, LAs, federations and other influencers to find business opportunities, partnerships and bulk sales of resources/qualifications/CPD to maximise sales, market share and promote Pearsonbrand
  • Participates alongside team members in customer meetings and takes personal responsibility for high importance education leaders and partners in the region
  • Effectively manages the direct team and also the wider sales matrix for the benefit of our customers
  • Business Development of partners who are key for future growth.
RESULTS
  • Achievement of annual revenue growth and market share targets for qualifications and resources in the region
  • Monitors the performance of the team implements plans to ensure success
  • Communicates progress on activity, sales and team performance, market trends, competitor activity and other objectives
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL
  • Experience in recruiting, training, development of individuals and empathetic leadership
  • Inspires and supports people by coaching, guiding, advising and personal example
  • Has an excellent understanding of the sales process and a record of having applied those principles and achieved consistent success.
  • Effective use of reporting and management tools to drive sales forecasting, KPIs and performance improvement
  • Use of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to drive sales processes
  • Collaborative, positive mindset, customer focussed and empowering of their team
  • Strong networking and negotiation skills
  • Results oriented, able to follow plans through to their conclusion
  • Highly motivated, takes initiative and accountability
DESIRABLE
  • Understanding of the key drivers in the UK Schools education market
  • Strong IT skills and able to train/coach others on the same.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3 years experience of sales management of field based teams
  • Field based and willingness to travel (50%)
  • Full UK driving licence
LOCATIONThis role is a field based role managing a team in the South West of England. The role would include regular travel with your team across the following areas: Bath, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Plymouth, Poole, Somerset,Swindon, Torbay, Wiltshire and also Wales and the Isles of Scilly.
