Job Description

Brief Outline

  • An industry leading company in the rail and infrastructuresector requires a Health & Safety Manager on a permanent basis for work focusedaround the South West & South Wales area.
  • The role will suit someone who is a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the companys ongoing progress.

About the Role Provide Health, Safety and Environmental support within the South West & Wales region; supporting the regional managers delivering complex civil engineering and construction projects.Proactively promote HSQE best practice and incident prevention strategies throughout the regional managerial/supervisory/workforce levels.Work with the managerial/supervisory teams across the region in the implementation of H&S standards and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.Provide professional H&S advice, coaching, mentoring, training and education to management/supervisors/workforce and contractors where identified as necessary.Support the central Group Compliance Manager with the collation and supply of site-based evidence for internal and third-party audits. Provide on site support to the site managerial team during second-party audits.Operate within the practices and procedures of the IMS system by ensuring all systems, processes and records are accurately maintained and appropriately retained.In conjunction with managerial and supervisory staff manage and close out all associated investigation recommendations and remedial actions arising from accident & incident investigations.Conduct HSQE audits on worksites throughout the region, reporting the findings and recommending on corrective action to the site team, the regional manager and HSQE Director.Produce a monthly regional HSQE report summarising accidents, incidents, close calls, audit outputs and continual improvement opportunities.Represent the company at regional Health, Safety and Environmental forums and liaise with client H&S management at project related meetings.About the Candidate
  • Previous experience in overseeing rail civil engineering works
  • Flexible self-starter with ability to prioritise
