Team Overview:This is a great time to join Ofcoms Public Policy team as Ofcom looks ahead to new responsibilities that will help to keep people safe when they are online. The Public Policy team sits at the centre of Ofcom. We act as the bridge between Ofcom and its workas an independent body, and the wider public policy, political and regulatory developments that affect the sectors we regulate. We work with teams across Ofcom to ensure that the wider public policy context is properly considered in Ofcoms work. We co-ordinateand lead Ofcoms engagement with Government and Parliament, and on Ofcoms work through the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (the DRCF) on digital matters with the Competition and Markets Authority (the CMA), the Information Commissioners Office (theICO), and the Financial Conduct Authority (the FCA). The teams role is to support the Board, senior management and the wider organisation to ensure Ofcom acts as an effective regulator which fully understands and participates in public debates about how bestto make communications work for consumers. The work of the team is fast paced, collaborative and blends both internal and external stakeholder engagement.Purpose of the role:In your role as Public Policy Associate, you will be involved in thinking about the future of digital regulation in Ofcom and in Ofcoms work with the members of the DRCF on digital matters. You will support the broad range of Ofcoms work with UK Governmentand Parliament and the DRCF, ensuring timely and coordinated engagement with policy makers. Working with internal Ofcom teams and the DRCF, you will manage the production of compelling, high-quality briefings and written materials for a range of internal audiences,including senior management. You will also play a leading role in managing Ofcoms relationship with Parliament by monitoring Parliamentary business, organising Parliamentary events and engaging directly with MPs, Peers and their offices.Responsiblitlies:
