Job Description

Leadership of CNC Operators to ensure production plan is achieved. Maximise efficiency of shift by ensuring all planned machines are run and lost time activities in production are minimised. Performance management of CNC Operators to ensure actual hoursbooked are maximised.Client DetailsMy client are an established manufacturing company who can offer longevity and development.DescriptionAs the Production Supervisor you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership of CNC Operators to ensure production plan is achieved. Maximise efficiency of shift by ensuring all planned machines are run and lost time activities in production are minimised.
  • Responsibility for achievement of KPI targets for production, including but not limited to near misses & accidents, production efficiency, schedule adherence and OTIF.
  • Drive and own continuous improvement projects in production to achieve operational improvements including increased throughput and reduced scrap.
  • Lead a safety-first culture in production, setting and maintaining the highest level of housekeeping standards. Including completion of near miss and accident investigations.
  • Ensure H&S compliance with legal and Group requirements.
  • Driver of constant customer focus on shop floor, ensuring key actions are followed up on in production and other areas to ensure customer expectations are met as a minimum.
  • Management of production operating costs to budget and forecast, including labour, consumables, and scrap costs.
  • Delivery of site Operations Strategy in conjunction with Head of Operations.
  • Create, maintain and implement training plan for all CNC Operators to develop skills and ensure the workforce is flexible to achieve production plans and maximise efficiency.
ProfileAs the Production Supervisor you will have the following skills and experience:
  • You will have ideally come from a similar shift manager, production supervisor role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong team working skills, able to motivate teams and drive a culture of accountability.
  • Ability to follow procedure and schedules whilst also possessing a desire to continually improve
  • Management of people to deliver results against KPIs. Particular focus on ability to hold challenging conversations about performance and performance improvement of individuals and team
  • Experience of operating in or leading a LEAN manufacturing site. Including awareness of key principles such as 5S and Kaizen
  • Competent to complete root cause analysis, for example 5Ys
  • Experience in managing projects, with particular focus on continuous improvement projects
