Job Description

REED Procurement are working with a large employer in the South Wales area who are on the lookout for a Category Manager / Procurement Manager to join the business on an 18 month Fixed Term Contract. The role sits within the Indirects Procurement Department,where you will be supervising a team of 3 Buyers. This role would suit someone with experience of Category Management strategies and techniques, specifically within either; Facilities, Fleet, or IT goods and services. The organisation works in an industrythat follows contract regulations, so recent experience of working within the Public Sector or Utilities Industry in this capacity would be preferable.Role Overview:

  • Development of contracting strategies, drafting Invitations to Tender and RFQ’s, the negotiation and implementation of Contracts and Framework Agreements.
  • the delivery of strategic sourcing events in order to meet specific business and end-user needs and the management of supplier relationships to deliver key benefits and add value.
  • The ability to build key stakeholder relationships, ensuring the requirements of the end-customer are met.
  • the evaluation of both goods and services based on whole life cost and quality whilst ensuring standards are met.
  • Managing and maintaining the approved vendor list for suppliers within your respective procurement category.
  • Delivering the annual Procurement Plan for Indirect Goods and Services category.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of appropriate EU Procurement legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Conducting presentations about market analyses and possible growth.
