Job Description

Process TechnicianCardiffUp to £23KMonday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm Friday 8am to 2pmThe Process Technician role is supporting the laboratory, conducting day-to-day monitoring of the chemical production environment as per the testing schedules. Working with the team, the Process Technician will perform the day-to-day maintenance and rectificationof chemical processes, escalating issues, and concerns as per the escalation process.The process technician is responsible to perform actions to maintain and rectify processing solutions in order that technical issues can be prevented, and that the environmentcan be closely monitored to address issues in a timely manner.The role -

  • Order and maintain chemical stock and resources including ensuring that all industrial chemicals are safely put away and stock rotation practice is maintained.
  • Make chemical additions to, and discards from,chemicalsolutions in a safe manner as per H&S instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain effluent treatment plant and RO water treatment plant within required limits.
  • Communicate monitoring fails and escalate issues as per the escalation process.
  • Support laboratory staff in performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual testing as per the laboratory testing schedule (as per business requirements).
  • Supporting quality and production during internal and external audits.
  • To look after chemical stores and lab equipment maintaining, calibrating, and cleaning.
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or as per the requirements of the business.
The person -
  • Capable of lifting chemical drums and containers of 25kg and over using suitable lifting equipment.
  • Ability to work methodically and systematically in anindustrialenvironment
  • Ability to track and record data using relevant software and systems
  • Ability to work as part of a team - working flexibly and collaboratively to solve technical issues and exceed departmental targets
  • Ability to follow and work within laboratory processes and procedures
  • Chemical awarenesswithin an industrial / production environment
