Job Description

Platform ManagerCardiff / HybridUp to £72000Yolk Recruitment are partnered with an expanding Fintech company in Cardiff looking to recruit an experienced Infrastructure professional to manage their expanding cloud platform team. If successful you will take ownership of the companies IT platforms assistingin their design, maintenance, improvement & implementation.Their environment is highly complex comprising of multi-vendor on premise & cloud-based servers (Windows / Linux & Azure / AWS). Ideally you will have will have an excellent foundation in 3rd line support & management with a high level of exposure to cloudhosted infrastructure (Azure / AWS) and follow an automation / DevOps first approach. This is a duel role with the requirementto be hands on, provide technical direction to the team & provide the day to day management of the platform team.They are based in modern recently refurbished offices in Cardiff & have a very flexible approach to hybrid working. Ideally you will have the flexibility to work in the office once or twice per week.This is what youll be doing:

  • Design, document, build and maintain secure on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
  • Organise and monitor software and configuration changes.
  • Collect requirements, understand them, create engineering / support documentation, and provide advice to enable support functions to work pro-actively.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test cases, check, and document results to ensure the systems technical, functional, and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Test, launch and help train users in new systems.
The experienceyoull bring to the team:
  • 5+ years commercial Azure/CoLo infrastructure management.
  • In-depth configuration management, automation and scripting skills including use of a scripting language (Python) and proficiency with shell scripting using PowerShell / Bash.
  • Demonstrable commercial experience of Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM Templating / Terraform / CloudFormation.
  • In-depth knowledge of platform and application automated deployment technologies with experience of CI/CD.
  • Windows server2008(R2), 2012(R2), 2016, 2019
  • Linux ServerUbuntu from 18.04; Redhat derivatives like Centos, Oracle Linux, etc
  • Good networks skills (DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP)
