Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Atlantis Medical and work as a locum in a Medical Therapy team. The post holder will provide rehabilitation for patients on the Medical Wards , including delivery of exercise programmes,gait re-education and assisting patients to return to independence in the activities of daily living, such as washing and dressing. You will work under supervision of the qualified therapists to provide an efficient, caring, patient focused service. You willbe working as part of a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, alongside the wider multidisciplinary team.Atlantis Medical proactively supports training and development both as part of internal and external CPD and you will be expected to complete appropriate mandatory training.Person SpecificationExperienceEssential

  • Clinical experience of working within a therapy service
  • Experience of working with a variety of people with differing needs
  • Experience of managing own time and prioritising activities

  • Experience of working independently
  • Experience of contributing to improving services

  • Experience of working in a variety of teams
  • Experience of working in group settings
  • Experience working in a community service
Qualifications and KnowledgeEssential
  • Evidence of Level 3 qualification relevant to workplace OR other equivalent training, qualifications or experience
  • Level 4 education OR equivalent experience with completion of relevant Level 4 qualification within a specified timescale after successful appointment
  • IT skills with good knowledge and application of Microsoft Office applications
  • Numeracy and literacy to at least level 2 (GCSE level grade C or above)
  • Good knowledge of rehabilitation through acquired experience and/or training
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic equipment
  • Knowledge of the roles of other staff groups in health and social care
Desirable
  • Evidence of role related CPD activities
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance, including research and audit
  • Knowledge of relevant outcome measures to demonstrate effectiveness of interventions
  • Knowledge of Health Board and priorities and practices
  • Knowledge of a range of rehabilitation interventions across all therapies
  • Trusted Assessor training in equipment and adaptations

  • Flexible in working hours, reliable work record and responsive to change
  • Prepared to work and travel across a variety of areas within Health Board to meet the needs of the service in a timely manner
