Job Description

I am working with a socially conscious business who are looking for a Payroll Officer to support on a medium sized payroll from start to finish.Client DetailsThe client is based in Cardiff and is easily accessible with onsite parking. The client is a socially conscientious business who set out to make the world a greener place, whilst enable their clients to reach their infrastructure needs.DescriptionAs the Payroll Officer your duties would include:

  • Processing the payroll in the a timely manner
  • Be the first point of contact for all HMRC enquiries
  • Be the first point of contact for pension providers
  • Maintaining sickness records within the payroll system ensuring total Company Sick Pay paid does not exceed entitlement
  • Checking calculation of Statutory Sick Pay ensuring correct amount paid to the number of sick days taken for period of incapacity of work
  • Calculate Statutory and Company Maternity Pay/Paternity Pay.
  • Ensure SMP and SPP calculated and paid in accordance with earnings, length of service and HMRC regulations
  • Calculation of salary increases. Includes basic salary, hourly rates, pension contributions and differences in overtime and shift premiums.
  • Completion of payroll processes to a monthly deadline to ensure timely payment via BACS
  • Compile and post Monthly journals to record transactions in the General Ledger
ProfileThe ideal candidate for the Payroll Officer role will:
  • Have worked in payroll previously
  • Ideally have worked on a large ERP system - SAP/Oracle/ SAGE
  • Be a strong communicator
  • Be happy to work as part of small team
Job OfferThe successful candidates will:
  • Be based in Cardiff
  • Receive between £28,000- £30,000
  • Generous holidays over 25 days plus Bank Holiday
  • Above Average Pension Contributions
  • CIPP study support available
