Job Description

Experts in their field, this central Cardiff based business is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their busy operation. The business is focussed on the provision of professional, qualified, and supportive care across south Wales. Established in 2005 they have gone from strength to strength and employ circa 1000 people.This role will be working in a talented finance team and will report into an experienced Payroll Manager. The role would suit someone with experience of working in a busy payroll department and who enjoys working in a bustling office environment.You should demonstrate excellent attention to detail and be able to manage multiple deadlines.   • Ensure all employees are paid monthly - on time and accurately
  • Update Sage system with information from time and attendance system (eg overtime, sickness, etc)
  • Responsible for adding starters and removing leavers from payroll system
  • Deal with SSP, SMP, SPP, P45s, P46s and other statutory payments and forms when required. Control CSA payments
  • Responsible for uploading payslips to enable access by staff
  • Completion of BACS payments for all companies within the business.
  • Evaluate and analyse statistical data and produce relevant reports for the accounts reconciling discrepancies
  • Reconciliation of any discrepancies each month
  • Liaise with the human resource team regarding increases & annual increments and assist with the production of relevant reports
  • Liaise with the staff and operating units who raise pay queries.
  • Process auto enrolment pension contributions
  • Assist the finance team with processing credit card payments, purchase invoices and other ad hoc tasks.

  • Experience of working in a payroll environment.
  • Computer literate including knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Possess strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Enjoy working as part of a team to set monthly deadlines.

  • £22,000pa
  • 37.5-hour week - Monday to Friday
