Job Title: Operational Services Supervisor (NHS)Location: Cardiff (Whitchurch)Salary: £10.40 an hour Band 3 Hours: Full time 37.5 hours contracted between 6:30am-2:30pm and 2:30pm to 8:00pm working Monday to SundayThe Velindre Cancer Centre are recruiting an Operational Services Supervisor to work for them on a Temporary contract in Cardiff. This could go permanent.Job PurposeTo provide a front line, supervisory service with the overall aim of ensuring that the services delivered are of the highest quality. Operational Services; include Catering, Domestic, Portering & Switchboard.To support the Operational Services Deputy Manager in service delivery. To provide a first class facilities service to cancer patients, visitors and staff, to include wards, day clinics, dining room and other functions within OperationalServices.To support the Operational Services Compliance Manager in ensuring compliance in Health & Safety, Waste, Training, Legislation, Policies and procedures across all disciplines of Operational Services.Communication & Relationship SkillsResponsible for ensuring all staff undertake the full range of duties expected of them in relation to the provision of Patient Catering services, Domestic Services Portering, switchboard/Reception to patients, staff and visitors, according to theOperational policy current at the time.Liaise with all departments necessary to specifically deal with patient requirements across operational services function.To provide training on equipment to relevant staff groups within departmental function.Knowledge, Training & ExperienceExperience of ensuring staff comply with Health and Safety, HACCP, COSHH, and Food Hygiene policies and regulations within Operational Services function. Previous Team Leader/Supervisor experienceAdvising the Operational Services Deputy Manager in the event of any non- compliance. Intermediate Food Hygiene Qualification. Good understanding of IOSH Health & Safety procedures. Knowledge of National Cleaning standards.Ensuring staff comply with the requirements of departmental operational policies and procedures.Experience in customer care is an important aspect of deliver core servicesPlanning & Organisational SkillsResolving operational problems wherever possible, and advising Operational Services Deputy Manager of action taken. Supervisor of any problems, potential problems, and suggestions relating to the smooth running of services within thedepartment Responsibility for producing and displaying, in reasonable time for staff rosters to enable them to plan their weeks, catering staff, ensuring sufficient staff are scheduled to be on duty to ensure a complete service is provided to patients.Ensuring monthly time sheets are correctly completed and submitted to payroll department in sufficient time to enable monthly returns to be processed by the payroll department for all staff wages Ensuring all documentation relating to legislation & compliancethat are required by individual departments including Catering, Domestic. Portering and switchboard services are provide to staff in individual departments at all times, Including records for both food and equipment that are taken and recorded in each serviceor storage area of the catering department, with records being maintained on the standard departmental monitoring sheets. All records to be collected and collated inthe supervisors offices for review on a weekly basis.
