Job Description

My client is a global biotechnology company producing speciality enzymes, looking to hire a Molecular Biology Technician on a 9-month fixed term contract with scope for extension, to complete essential molecular biology tasks related to enzyme process development. Specifically, to analyse DNA content within multiple sample types. Requirements:

  • A good theoretical knowledge of molecular biology.
  • Practical experience and theoretical knowledge for DNA isolation and analysis.
  • Practical experience of protein analysis techniques.
  • Laboratory housekeeping.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety, Food safety, HACCP and GMP.
  • Technically competent in performing molecular biology techniques including DNA extraction, preparation, PCR and analysis techniques such as nano-drop, qPCR and agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Technically competent in protein analysis techniques such as Bradford assay and SDS-PAGE.
  • Reporting data to NPD scientists in agreed timeline.
  • Support scientists and help carry out tests, research, and investigations.
