Single Record Lead Software DeveloperSalary: £38,890 to £44,503Hours: 37.5hrs per weekTenure:PermanentCardiffOverviewWe are looking for an experienced Lead Software Developer to support research and development within the Single Record product team. The scope of the role covers interfaces and related proofs of concept for the main Portal application, the mobile application and other developments falling within the remit of the single record product.Working largely independently, but under the guidance of a senior solutions architect, you shall have the opportunity to work with a range of system and user interface technologies. In addition to new developments, you will be involved in exploring options and developing solutions for integration of legacy system elements.The role will involve close liaison with a range of stakeholders in functions both within and outside of the Single Record team, for example business analysis, technical design, development, test, project management and 3rd party application providers. Well-developed written, graphic and verbal communication skills will be required.The following skills and experience are relevant to the role:*ASP.NET MVC and the latest Microsoft .NET technologies (up to version 4.6)*Excellent understanding of OOP and software design patterns*Entity Framework and LINQ *Unit testing frameworks such as MSTest or NUnit*Team Foundation Server*SQL, Enterprise RDBMS *Modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect*Xamarin*Web Services (SOAP/Rest)The post holder must be able to:*Work closely with colleagues, customers and senior staff on a daily basis and primarily through face-to-face communication to complete tasks.*Discuss progress and notify senior staff of impediments during regular team meetings such as Daily SCRUMS.*When required, deputise for the scrum master by chairing meetings with the development team (particularly daily SCRUMS but also backlog refinement meetings, reviews and retrospectives if necessary.)*Discuss ideas with colleagues and review tasks and priorities in collaboration with other team members and senior staff.*Contribute ideas on how to become more effective during regular team meetings such as Sprint retrospectives.*Proven experience using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to write software code and produce elegant, robust and maintainable software applications.*Practical experience using a popular software development framework (such as .NET or Java) or database technology stack.*An excellent understanding of the advanced principles of object oriented design together with a thorough understanding of procedural and declarative programming languages.*An excellent and demonstrable command of the principles of good software design using, for example, the principles of SOLID, TDD and object oriented programming or the principles of normalisation in SQL programming.*A good understanding of how to manage software development projects using a suitable software development methodology (for example Agile).Certes Computing (and all of its subsidiary companies) is committed to promoting equality and diversity in its business operations.
