Job Description

Reed Talent Solutions are currently working alongside Digital Health and Care Wales, looking for a number of Software Developers to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.NWIS is responsible for the design, deployment and management of national Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) systems within NHS Wales and provides a range of services to the Welsh Government and NHS Organisations.What we are looking forWe are looking for an experienced lead software developer to work within a multidisciplinary software applications team. The post holder will be responsible for delivery of software solutions by collaborating with Product specialists, Business Analysts andClinical stakeholders.Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience writing enterprise Microsoft.NET applications [preferably using C#], with a history of successful delivery into live service. A thorough understanding of Object Oriented Programming and the principles ofgood software design are both essential.What youll be doing

  • Working as part of a team you will be involved in the end-to-end product lifecycle including design, development, maintenance and support
  • Lead development of new products and enhancements to existing systems
  • Develop and maintain solutions where the enterprise architecture is already defined and established.
  • Interpret business specifications, develop and test in line with the IT Development Process
  • Participate and lead end-to-end sprint based development cycles, guiding development, and influencing the future of the platform and its technology.
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders in functions both within and outside of the Community Applications team, for example business analysts, technical design, test, project management and 3rd party application providers.
What skills and experience do you need
  • ASP.NET MVC and Microsoft .NET technologies
  • Design and development of WCF SOAP and RESTful web services
  • Excellent understanding of OOP, software design patterns and SOLID design principles
  • Entity Framework and LINQ
  • Unit testing frameworks such as MSTest or NUnit
  • Oracle / SQL Server RDBMS
  • WinForms
  • Angular JS, JQuery
Familiarity in the following areas will be advantageous:
  • Software performance modelling and analysis
  • Inversion of Control (utilising Castle Windsor or NInject)
  • AutoMapper
  • Reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, ActiveReports etc
  • Agile software development (SCRUM)
  • Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.
