Our customer is currently embarking on an exciting period of modernisation and new projects, so you will play a key role within this transformationfor the business.We expect that some of the key duties for which the Lead Software Developer would be responsible would be:*to lead the development of new projects, enhancing and maintaining current systems and ongoing R&D, with a hands-on approach.*lead the team in designing and developing new software solutions to meet the strategic initiatives of the business.*ensure all development work complies with quality standards and best practices.*ensure the application of secure development techniques.*learn existing systems and lead the team in locating and repairing problems or decommissioning legacy systems where appropriate.*carry out peer code reviews as required.*work cooperatively as part of a team, within their architectural, operational, technical and business framework.*stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices, then use this knowledge to move the team forward, improve their processes and systems.*work as part of the IT Management team and collaborate with the IT Director on strategic initiatives.*maintain a culture of accountability, responsibility and transparency within the team.We believe that to be successful in this Lead Software Developer opportunity, you will have the following skills and experience:*experienced in leading a small Development team.*experienced in managing both Agile or Waterfall project cycles.*proven Software Development track record, covering the full development lifecycle.*experience of working with C#, .NET Core and MSSQL.*experience of working with NodeJS, MySQL, HTML, CSS and XML.*experience of working with Angular, Vue, React or similar frameworks.*experience of working on web applications and back-end systems.*experience with development of microservices.*experience of working in an API driven environment.*experienced in working with version control systems, including Git / GitHub.*experience of developing and deploying containerised applications in Azure.*hold a degree in Computing or technical discipline, or commensurate commercial experience.This is an exceptional opportunity to join an award-winning company as they embark on major transformation / modernisation projects, to lead a team of enthusiastic Developers to deliver first-class solutions.
