Job Description

Lead Frontend DeveloperCardiff / Hybrid 1 day in office, 4 days remoteUp to £70,000Yolk Recruitment are working with an international digital sporting agency based in the heart of Cardiff. They are searching for a talented Lead Frontend Developer to supervise a small team of 3 frontend developers and 2 UX designers.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Developer to grow their leadership skills in an exciting and dynamic environment. You will drive the development of the industry, leading headless front-end architecture on Nuxt (Vue), ensuring its suitability todeliver high-end solutions for their clients. Although Vue is their core framework, they welcome applications from experienced React developers.You will oversee frontend development of websites, web applications, plugins, integrations and more for their most high prole clients being some of the biggest sporting clubs and societies around the world.This is what youll be doing:

  • Supervising and mentoring a team of Frontend Developers and UX Designers
  • Proposing and architecting frontend solutions
  • Confidently advising on technical decisions
  • Attending client and project meetings
  • Peer reviewing code and defining coding standards
The experienceyoull bring to the team:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a senior or lead position
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks: React or VUE (preferred)
  • Experience of fundamental web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript & BrowserAPI
  • Experience working with headless architecture / JAMStack environments
  • Experience with version control technologies such as Git
  • Knowledge of CRUD operations using APIs
  • Knowledge of responsive design practices
  • Knowledge of UI component-driven websites & web applications
What would be desirable for you to bring to the team:
  • Experience working in an agency environment
  • Experience with a server-programming languages such as PHP / Python / NodeJS
  • Experience with relational databases as SQL
  • Knowledge of building RESTful APIs
  • Experience with WordPress CMS, both theme & plugin development
