We are looking to recruit a laboratory Technician with a Microbiology biased.This position is due to growth and will involve some travel to sites on occasion and will have use of a pool car when needed however salary can be increased with additional pay if travelling outside core hours.The rolePreparing clean, sterile equipment, solutions and culture media for use in the laboratory.Stock maintenance of laboratory consumables, chemicals and microbiological media.Perform quality control tests of media and reagents, including tests for sterility and growth promotion;Complete registration of samples onto systemConduct microbiological analysis of samples for clients according to documented procedures, as assigned by the Laboratory Manager;Attend on-site to clients premises to conduct routine microbiological sampling as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.Complete appropriate documents, procedures, forms and documents.Report Non-conformances / OOS results to Laboratory Manager.General laboratory cleaning and disinfecting;Preparing and disposal of waste;Skills:Aseptic techniqueAbility to record results/data accurately and with attention to detailGood numeracy skillsComputer literate, including MS Word and Excel(Desirable) Experience of Molecular Biological Techniques(Desirable) Experience of Site Sampling / Hygiene AuditsCar driver Essential The company offer an excellent working environment and career progression, hours 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch. 5% pension contribution, private health care after probation period.
