Job Description

Acorn Recruitment is working in partnership with a national Electrical contractor who is currently seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent bases.Our client designs and specifies the mechanical and electrical services for a wide range of buildings including offices, data centres, residential apartments, schools, universities, colleges, hotels, etc. with an emphases on sustainable, low carbon design on high profile projects across the UK with leading architects, designers and contractors and have an excellent reputation for delivery, quality and reliability of their servicesAs a result of strong pipe line of growth, our client has a full time permanent position available for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join their friendly team near Cardiff.Their Design services include Electrical supplies for buildings covering HV and LV power, generators UPS systems, lighting, fire alarm and fire supress suppression systems, access control, intruder detection, CCTV and alarms, data and telecommunication cabling.Our client is keen to speak to candidates from university leavers upwardsThis is a great opportunity to develop within, and you will be supported and assisted by the project director and Team Leader on a day to day bases. Thy will give guidance and training to help with the below responsibilities:Experience Required

  • Good computer and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Amtech and Dialux is essential.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software packages would be an advantage.
  • You will have or be working towards Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) accredited qualification such as BEng (hons), or BSc.
  • You will be expected to have current Health and Safety and Asbestos Awareness training and a Professionally Qualified persons CSCS skill card (or equivalent)
    • Responsibilities
  • As a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be part of a project team, helping with all aspects of the design and specification of electrical building services installation.
  • Help undertake surveys of existing installations and prepare condition reports and recommendations for refurbishments and replacement.
  • Help undertake inspection and monitoring of installations for quality and compliance with the design and specification and witnessing of commissioning.
