You will also receive a tailored benefits package and access to unique learning and development opportunities.The Role:In this role you will be delivering innovative software to clients, developing on both client and server side using agile methodology. You will be acting as an engineer and subject matter expert on client projects building cloud native applications from specification to implementation. As an advocate for automation-first working you will optimise delivery by building tools to streamline development. You will use observability and profiling tools, and dashboards to ensure that services are reliable and high quality.You will monitor services, measuring factors such as errors, latency, and traffic to support maintenance. You will design solutions and plan continuous improvement of systems and evolve them by identifying possible improvements. Keeping abreast of Open Source and cloud trends, you will use your knowledge to make suggestions on how to utilise those technologies.Skills & Experience:* Strong knowledge of Java and core open-source technologies and frameworks.* Experience in one or more technology stacks.* Experience in TDD, Pair Programming, and CI / CD.* Given the nature of the work youll need to have or being willing to undertake SC clearance.Whilst not essential, experience in any of the following would be of benefit:* Recent versions of Java and dependency injection.* JavaScript frameworks.* NoSQL.* Messaging, e.g. Kafka.* Cloud computing and microservices.* Docker or Kubernetes.* Junit and Mockito.* JIRA / Confluence.Salary & Location:* £45k - 70k per annum, plus benefits.* Treforest or Bristol.Submit your CV or get in touch with Caroline Alldridge at Acorn Recruitment Ltd for more information.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
