Job Description

INSOLVENCY ADMINISTRATORJob PurposeReporting to the Insolvency Manager and Directors, the Insolvency Administrator will be responsible for supporting the management of a varied caseload of Corporate and Personal insolvency cases from onset to closure including:

  • Administration
  • Creditors Voluntary Liquidation
  • Members Voluntary Liquidation
  • Compulsory Liquidation
  • Company Voluntary Arrangement
  • Bankruptcy
  • Individual Voluntary Arrangement
General Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties will include and not be limited to supporting case managers and the directors in respect of:Pre-appointment
  • Preparing initial documents following internal procedures, including case set-up
  • Identifying and obtaining information from directors/company officers, preparing pre-appointment bribery, ethical and money laundering checklists for office holder
  • Effective analysis of information obtained
  • Ensuring statutory compliance including reporting and advertising requirements
  • Working within agreed timescales/setting timescales
Post-appointment
  • Statutory compliance, notifications and reporting
  • Agreeing strategy with office holder
  • Managing case to maximise profitability and minimising potential write-offs
  • Liaising with directors and company officers
  • Responding to creditor queries, correspondence and telephone calls
  • Efficient case management to ensure case progression
  • Ensuring the administration of a case is conducted within appropriate budget/timescales
  • Day to day management of case, preparation of on-going case reviews for office holders approval
  • Maintaining and completing case checklists
  • Working with minimal supervision from Director or Manager
  • Identifying/bringing issues to the attention of Partner/Manager - suggesting appropriate actions/solutions
  • Identifying areas for potential further detailed investigations, not only in respect of statutory reporting but also to identify potential recovery actions
  • Agreeing claims for all classes of creditors
  • Paying dividends/distributions
  • Employees - liaising with employees, calculation and preparation of employee entitlements, agreeing claims
  • Closing cases
Miscellaneous
  • A clear understanding and expanding knowledge of all regulatory and statutory requirements as appropriate.
  • Proactive approach to areas identified as requiring improvement
  • Supporting the Insolvency manager, director and accepting delegated departmental responsibilities
  • To adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety
The IndividualTo be considered for this position you must have the following skills and experience:
  • Some insolvency experience and working knowledge of the associated procedures, rules and regulations
  • Competent at using Microsoft Office
  • Experience of using insolvency case management software (preferably IPS)
  • Team worker
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proven planning and prioritising skills
  • Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
  • Is aware of own personal development and contributes towards it
