Opportunity for an experienced monitoring systems engineer, for an established, nationwide IT MSP, based from their South Wales office.The Monitoring Support Team is responsible for providing the 24/7/365 group presence.The main function of the Monitoring Support Engineers is to monitor and maintain the overall group and customer infrastructure, including network health, storage capacity, security and backups and subsequently carry out remedial actions to rectify any issuesidentified.You will be working alongside the Service Desk and will be a part of the overall Tech Ops presence, where engineers assist with any customer support requests, in particular during out-of-hour periods when the Service Desk is not present, and the engineerswill liaise with the current on-call teams.You must have held a previous technical service or support position, where you will have gained a good level of exposure to various hosting technologies.24/7/365 Shift Pattern Due to the nature of the role, the Monitoring Support Team operates 24/7/365 over a shift-based pattern. This is 4 days of day shifts (0700-1900), followed by four rest days, followed by four-night shifts (1900-0700),followed by four rest days, recurring. ***Unsociable hours can be done remotely. ***Responsibilities include:
