Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer - £45k to £50k - Cardiff - Hybrid workingThe primary responsibility of this position is to provide, manage, support, maintain availability, performance, and security of the company IT infrastructure mainly cloud based but with an element of on-premise infrastructure.You will collaborate with others to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes; Perform day to day operation, ongoing maintenance and implementation of network infrastructure for future projects.This role will also be required to be involved with the day to day support of the Microsoft Azure environment outside of the networking elementHybrid working - 2/3 days per week on siteSkills/Knowledge

  • Responsible for the engineering design, installation, implementation, and configuration as well as ongoing support of the Windows, Unix/Linux Infrastructure, PaaS and SaaS services within Microsoft Azure
  • Excellent knowledge of M365 and Microsoft Azure
  • Scripting and automation experience in Powershell or BashProvision/configure required software onto servers, such as web servers and databases.
  • Evaluate, improve, and maintain the Azure environment using automation and containerisation technologies
  • Monitor and correct critical server issues and create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Possess excellent knowledge base in DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, and integration with Windows to solve functional or technical issues.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixesWindows and Linux Server and desktop environments
  • Microsoft InTune for automated system deployments
  • Telephony skills including VOIP and call recording
  • Full suite of Microsoft System Centre products
  • AD DS, Group Policy Management & Office 365
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule after hours and on weekends.
