Job Description

TristoneNash are pleased to be supporting a reputable Charity that is well establish working in mental health to appoint a Housing Manager.About the Organisation:The Charity works alongside people experiencing challenges with their mental health, and with communities who want to create a greater sense of connection, ownership and wellbeing in the places that they live. They are part of a growing movement of peopleand organisations who do not believe societys current helping systems are fit for purpose. This Organisation is testing and developing an asset based, trauma informed and healing focused approach to their work, as a response to the deficit based, traumatisingand often damaging approaches experienced by many people when seeking help.This Charity provides homes for the people they work with through their role as managing agents in partnership with a range of landlords, mostly Housing Associations.Overview of the Role:

  • You will be responsible for the delivery of excellent housing management services ensuring they are responsive and coordinated according to the needs of the customer.
  • You will ensure that income is maximised and clients are supported to maintain their tenancies.
Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Head of Service, you will provide leadership and management to the Housing Team and ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction as well as serve as a point of escalation for complex cases.
  • Ensure that the people they accommodate are provided with high quality service delivered in line with their values enabling them to sustain the tenancy.
  • Liaise with local teams to ensure that the people they work with are supported to manage the financial aspect of the tenancy and that the Organiaation can claim all income available via rent and service charges.
  • Oversee tenancy and estate management services by providing top class customer service and ensure that services are compliant with housing and tenancy law and regulations.
  • Provide line management and supervision to the front-line staff.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the team and wider organisation on tenancy matters and ensure that tenancies are managed in line with relevant legislation.
  • Ensure that processes such as sign ups, evictions, abandonments are followed correctly.
  • Ensure service standards and performance expectations are met relating to quality of service, customer satisfaction, service response and completion times for all housing management processes e.g. tenancy changes, tenancy compliance and anti-social behaviour.
  • Support the local Service Managers and, where appropriate, equip them with the skills, knowledge, competence, and confidence to fulfil their housing management duties.
  • Analyse and understand Data and Impact to drive internal service improvement.
Person Specification:
  • We are looking for a team player who is confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • You are pragmatic and have a solution focussed approach to working. Having sound judgement is also key to the success of this role.
  • You will have the experience of Housing Management and tenancy legislation within a Wales context, ideally with experience of this specific sector, either professional or personal.
  • You will have experience managing multiple housing management agreements, of public sector procurement, commissioning and contract management and understands the role this plays in how the the system works - this could be public, private or third sectorexperience.
  • You will have experience in managing and developing a team, be happy to share your experience, mentor and bring out the strengths in individuals and teams.
  • You can hold onto detail during times of change and is comfortable using data to ensure compliance, safety and to understand the impact of our work.
  • You can establish, develop, and maintain effective and restorative working relationships modelling the best of restorative working by being open and honest.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to use Microsoft 365 to communicate effectively using Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint & Teams.
  • You will have the ability to drive and access to your own transport.
