Job Description

Healthcare Testing Assistant (HCA)Bionical Solutions are proud to be one of the partners supporting the COVID19 Infection Survey and carry out 20,000 tests in homes across England. This study is aiming to determine how many people have had Covid-19 already, some without realising, and to look at the presence of Antibodies and Antigens.This study will support research and gather evidence that will provide essential data to influence and support decisions being made regarding Covid-19; specifically lockdown, treatment and potential vaccinations.We are looking to engage HCAs who are fully trained and competent in taking blood to carry out the testing in homes. This role will run between 9-12months, it can be super flexible to your diary and will be paying a salary of £22,000. Due to the role being in the community there will also be a car allowance.NOTE: You will need to use a smart phone in order to access your scheduling software.Both your safety and the safety of participants is of the utmost importance so you will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment. Any testing done on participants showing symptoms of Covid-19 will be done via a swab which will be provided so that they may swab themselves, you will not enter the participants home.What will you be doing

  • Undertaking phlebotomy to support the Antibody testing
  • Carrying out swab samples to support the Antigen testing
  • Undertaking phlebotomy to support the Antibody testing
  • If the household is symptomatic, the participant will need to self-swab and you will facilitate this from the doorstep
  • Delivering samples to your nearest drop off point
  • Adhering to strict Venepuncture processes and policies
  • Undertaking any necessary training and e-learning courses
    • What skills and experience will you need
  • Fully trained and competent in Phlebotomy (Essential)
  • Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow process diligently
  • The ability to travel
