Health Protection Nurse or Practitioner Health Protection Division, Public Health WalesLocation/base: Caerleon House, PontypoolSalary: Agenda for Change Band 6An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or an appropriately registered practitioner or allied health professional (see person specification) to join the All-Wales Health Protection Team. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work in the field of infectious disease, infection prevention and control, and other aspects of health protection.The post holder will work with other members of Public Health Wales’ Health Protection Team and the wider Health Protection Division in the surveillance, prevention and control of a range of infectious diseases and other health protection issues.The post holder will act as a key member of the All-Wales Acute Response (AWARe) service, taking part (most days) in the rota for delivering the acute health protection response service, responding to a range of notifications, enquiries and incidents, providing health protection advice to other health professionals and members of the public. The post is mostly office-based and most of the time will be spent using a computer and a telephone. In the current COVID-19 climate, staff are being supported with home working where possible, so it is essential that applicants are able to work from home for this post.The post holder will also work with Senior Health Protection Nurses and Practitioners on agreed aspects of a portfolio of planned proactive work at local and regional level.
