Job Description

  • Full time, permanent
  • £40,000 - £55,000 per annum

Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKFast expanding and with a first-class reputation in its sector, our client is a major food organisation with a focus on quality, customer service and sound sustainable principles.About the Health & Safety Manager role:As a Regional Health & Safety Manager, you will work across a number of locations to identify and drive business improvements to ensure legal compliance and adherence to external and internal standards. Working with local management teams and site QHSE Managers,you will identify, drive health and coordinate both site and national improvement programs.This broad-based and stimulating role includes:
  • The provision of professional Health & Safety advice, guidance and support to sites
  • Working with teams at all levels to establish a strong and positive Health & Safety culture and to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Undertaking and managing audits to ensure compliance and agreed on improvements
  • Leading and contributing to business change through effective change and project management processes
  • Coaching and supporting local teams to deliver to standards and compliance
You will be based at home (any location south of Birmingham) and a full driving licence will be needed as there will be a requirement for travel and occasional overnights as and when required. Travel is typically c2-3 days/week. The remainder is home based.The ideal candidate:Qualifications and experience:
  • NEBOSH professionally qualified (Certificate or Diploma) or working towards GradIOSH and/or CMIOSH
  • Manufacturing, logistics, transport, and heavier industry exposure would be ideal, but open to other sector backgrounds
  • Good track record as a Health & Safety Manager with responsibility for managing Health & Safety in a similar role
  • Open to individuals part way/developing their qualifications and will support this as part of your development
  • Multi-site environment experience preferred, but not essential
Knowledge and skills:
  • Confident in building relationships at all levels, project managing local programs, and coordinating major initiatives
  • Driven, capable, and passionate about the subject
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Flexible approach to work and able to manage a varied workload
  • Excellent influencing skills with the ability to build and develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders up to Board level
  • Good ability to manage deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are part of your skillset
