• To manage the team in accordance with the Companys policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the teams business objectives are achieved consistently.
• Lead the Product Ledger Accounting relationships with divisional business and finance teams to ensure reporting is delivered to the agreed timescales, the impact of divisional changes is understood and issues are escalated where appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring the teams deliver accurate and timely monthly financial accounts with related revenue, balance sheet, tax or other regulatory returns completed in accordance with Accounting Operations timetables. Ensure latest accounting standardsare understood and applied to all reporting outputs.
• Responsible for ensuring Product Ledger Accounting operate robust financial controls in the delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting. This will include maintaining an appropriate process control framework covering process documentation and EUCs,and includes liaison with Group Internal Audit and external auditors to ensure all key milestones are met and risks are well controlled.
• Oversee, control and deliver system and process change into Product Ledger Accounting. Lead initiatives to identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure delivery of project and continuous improvement driven change initiatives impacting systemsand processes into production without impact to service levels.
• Lead strategic change projects which impact Accounting Operations, working in partnership with relevant change teams. Oversee all business-driven change projects, or initiatives, whether stand-alone or part of a broader initiative, which impact the teamsprocesses or systems.
• Responsible for ensuring that for the reconciliations retained by Product Ledger Accounting, the team delivers accurate and timely reconciliations to ensure alignment to the standards and requirements set out by the Reconciliation Operations function.

Profile

• A qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience within a Finance environment.
• The jobholder will have knowledge of financial services and preferably insurance accounting.
• The jobholder will have extensive financial and management accounting experience, with experience of working in a control environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Using logical argument and data, challenge peers and Directors.
• Experienced people manager able to demonstrate positive performance management.
