Job Description

This is a fully remote role only requiring visits to site for business critical meetings.Client DetailsMy client is a large complex Not for Profit organisation based in Wales.DescriptionThe Head of Finance Accounts will provide a professional and customer focused service across the full range of Finance department stakeholder interfaces.The Head of Finance Accounts has operational oversight of financial accounting, receipts and payments systems, online platforms and statutory returns / reporting. The role includes legislative compliance, adherence to standards, processes, procedures and controls. The Head of Finance Accounts will lead in delivery of these responsibilities.The role will be responsible for, but not limited to;

  • Oversee the receipts and payments interfaces, to include relationships with external providers and the requisite security processes; work alongside colleagues to ensure payment platforms and related systems are up to date and fit for purpose
  • Coordinate the Internal Audit provision and reporting process, liaising with external providers to provide a first class service.
  • Through the Financial Manager and others, ensure the effective production of the annual Financial Statements
  • Lead and manage the Finance departments Risk Management approach and maintenance of systems, ensuring that risks are managed and reporting processes are fit for purpose
  • Manage engagement in multiple complex concurrent projects, providing timely support and guidance for strategic and operational planning across the range of activities
  • Be the operational lead Finance contact for major capital projects, providing the required financial services to effect project delivery.
  • Financially manage the organisations assets, ensuring that the Asset Register is up to date and accurate.
  • Through the Financial Manager, oversee Cashflow ensuring that liquidity levels and covenant compliance are in place; ensure that effectiveness of Cashflow planning processes and associated reporting mechanisms.
ProfileYou will be a fully qualified Accountant through ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFAYou will live in the UK and be able to travel to site in Wales for business critical meetings (not regular)
  1. Line management experience, including setting and monitoring targets in a complex work area.
  2. Experience of generating effective team working as well as engaging and motivating others.
  3. Experience of processing systems, developing and embedding customer interfaces and engagement within a large organisation.
  4. Experience of liaising with professional advisors and preparation of quality reports for senior management / governance committees.
  5. Specialist and up to date technical knowledge of legislative requirements, specifically financial accounting, and experience of tax and investments / endowments work.
  6. Knowledge and experience of developing policies and customer focused solutions in a corporate environment.
  7. Knowledge of Finance / ERP systems such as Agresso / ABW / Unit 4 and knowledge of how to use to record / reporting on activity across the institution, to include an understanding of corporate risk management.
  8. Ability to work effectively with senior colleagues and advisors, influencing decisions taken by senior staff.
  9. A strong customer service ethic, recognising the need to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the institution.
  10. A high level of oral and written communication skills, communicating with academic and service staff across the university through the provision of training courses, one-to-ones and email.
  11. Evidence of building and maintaining external relationships, engaging with professional advisors and colleagues across a range of financial activities.
Job OfferA 6 month interim role starting ASAPINTERVIEWS HELD in between Christmas and New year or in Early JanuarySalary c £400-£500 per day via an umbrella company (inside IR35)fully remote role - however there may be occasions when you need to go to site for business critical meetings
