Job Description

Governance and Compliance AdvisorFlexible (with travel to other locations across Wales will be necessary)£35,288Full Time, Permanent PositionOur public sector client are looking for a Senior Advisor (Governance and Compliance) to join their newly created Contract Management Support Service (CMSS), in an extremely varied and interesting role.You will;

  • be responsible for ensuring contract management guidance, policies, tools and templates meet relevant legislative requirements, aligning processes to recognised and good practice standards
  • support contract managers across a range of contract types and will play a vital role in the delivery of the Commercial Strategy and Contract Management Plan
  • provide specialist commercial advice as a Contract Management Expert to managers and staff based on interpretation of the regulations and rules, case law and precedents
  • ensure the Welsh Language Standards are applied to contract management documentation and will liaise with the Welsh Language Specialist Advisor as required
The successful candidate will have Full Corporate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or The Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP), qualified to expert level.It is essential that you have strong and demonstrable experience as a commercial expert on commercial legislation and public sector policy as well as expert understanding of procurement/commercial concepts, governance and techniques.You must also have transferrable experience of delivering business objectives, preferably those involving sustainable development, procurement or that have been commercial in nature.It is also a must that you are able to pronounce Welsh and use basic phrases.Normal working arrangements are for at least 1-2 days per week in the office with the rest remotely, however you must be flexible to travel to other locations across Wales at times.Please note that the deadline for applications is Friday 24th March.
