Job Description

Flexible employer with good work life balance.Job purpose:The successful candidate will act as a source of specialist advice, partnering to provide internal and external stakeholders with credible, accurate, timely, and meaningful analysis of complex financial data turning this into valuable insight which willdrive business critical decisions.You will play a pivotal role in consolidating the overall Groups budget and monthly performance position, working alongside the Finance Business Partners to ensure that the information is accurate and complete. The role will influence and support financialand strategic planning through financial modeling and scenario planning, supporting Executive to make decisions linked to Strategy 2030.The role will shape and drive understanding of the Groups income streams, costs and cost drivers through developing and enhancing existing financial returns . This role will lead, manage and co-ordinate inputs from across the business and will be accountablefor improving and designing a new template which will improve the financial accuracy of our return.Key responsibilities:

  • To work closely and proactively with the Financial Planning Manager to support the bi-annualbudgetcycles,throughpreparationofbudget consolidationfiles,generating insightful analysis and reporting and providing accurate timely insight to the Group and thewider Group’s budget financial position.
  • Calculate and own the complex budgeted income calculation and agency commission for the Group, preparing insightful analysis and investigating and responding to queries.
  • Calculate and own complex analysis which will provide insight, which will ultimately form the basis of central budget contingencies. These calculations will provide insight and form credible recommendations which will aid budget decisions at Executive level.
  • Consolidate the Group’s monthly financial reporting results which will include complex analysis which is presented within the monthly reporting pack. Develop insightful analysis and credible financial analysis, giving confidence to Executive on the currentperformance and full year forecast position.
  • Maintain and develop financial models to improve the accuracy of financial planning and longer-term forecasting.
  • To use knowledge, experience and expertise to drive improvements to the budget and monthly reporting process, automating reporting through the use of PowerBI, Tech1 systems to remove manual input and interventions.
  • Provide insight through financial benchmarking with competitiors for monthly reporting and budget setting , producing timely insight for senior stakeholders across the business.
  • To manage, lead and co-ordinate the development and preparation of the TRAC (R) returns, including collecting data, preparing complex models and undertaking analysis to validate cost drivers and cost allocations ensuring that the output is accurate.
  • Deliver insight by benchmarking the activity within the sector which will aid the sign off at Executive and Finance and Resources Committee level.
  • Partner with the business and be accountable to ensure that key TRAC inputs are received, challenging stakeholders on quality of data, controls are working effecively and critical deadlines are achieved. This will include owning the process and challengingreturns and inputs with senior stakeholders and presenting outcomes and training to the Board.
  • Build network with peers, sharing best practice and advice and making recommendations to drive improvement to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor financial controls, identifying risk and areas of improvements to support accurate categorisation of income and costs.
  • Support the Finance team in raising the profile of the Group’s Finance Department as a trusted, credible and value adding function
  • To contribute to the wider work of the wider team as required.

  • Part Qualified Accountant (CCAB recognized body) or studying towards CCAB qualification.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Highly numerate and literate, with a strong customer focus and excellent attention to detail.
  • Energetic and achievement orientated, with the ability and experience to prioritise competing issues and meet strict deadlines across a team in a multidisciplined environment.
  • Experience of financial planning in a devolved structure and a changing externalenvironment.
  • Highly experienced in producing complex financial planning and scenario analysis with a keen eye for detail and financial accuracy.
  • Experienced and competent in using Excel spreadsheets to an excellent standard.
  • Strong financial analysis experience, working with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with an ability to form excellent workingrelationships across an organisation and develop trust and credibility.
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders to develop their understanding and interpretation of financial data.
  • Experience of financial appraisal and challenging inputs and outputs.
  • Experience working with financial systems and working and developing reporting tools (e.g Power BI).
  • The ability to speak and/or write in Welsh is desirable.
