Job Description

We are currently working exclusively with a well-established & successful UK based electronic trading platform who are currently setting up a new banking business to be based in Cardiff (hybrid working available). The role of Financial Controller will reportto the CFO and will provide comprehensive financial expertise and support to the business, ensuring that all areas relating to financial accounting and reporting are fully compliant. Further responsibilities include

  • Production of financial statutory accounts and year end statements
  • Production of monthly management accounts packs
  • Continuous appraisal and enhancement of accounting controls and procedures
  • Develop and improve the budgeting process and forecasts
  • Contribute to production of ICAAP, RRP/LCP & ILAAP
  • Contribute to IFRS 9 process
  • Supervision of Financial Regulatory Reporting function
  • Act as deputy to CFO when required
The Company:
  • An early stage new banking business with the financial and technological backing of a UK based electronic trading platform
The Person:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience of working in the regulated financial services sector
  • A hands-on approach to financial control and management
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to converse with Board of Directors
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and timescales
  • Leads by example to embed the firms cultural aspirations of being clear, forward thinking, balanced and diverse
  • Strong MS Office including advanced Excel
Salary: £70k - £80k plus bonus, pension, 25 days, flexible working
