Job Description

This is an exciting position for someone to grow their Sales career within the FMCG sector.The Field Sales Executive will play a part in building, implementing and developing sales of the companies product range within their designated territory. The role will require ambitious growth plans and explore new business opportunities.You will be reporting to the National Field Sales Manager and joining a large motivated sales team.Client DetailsMy client, whos office is based in High Wycombe, are looking for a Field Sales Executive to cover their South West of England territory. Ideally, you will be based around Cardiff/Bristol area or within the territory.They are an FMCG company with a very friendly and supportive Sales team.DescriptionKey responsibilities of the Field Sales Executive include:

  • Maximising all display opportunities presented within all relevant customers in the designated area
  • Achievement of sales targets and initiatives in line with company strategy
  • Formulation and implementation of a territory strategy to ensure achievement of various targets and objectives as agreed with RSM
  • Implementation of independent & national trading displays and concept agreements as agreed by National Account Manager at head office level
  • To negotiate product range, price, volume & display space in line with company targets/guidelines within Cash & Carry & Wholesale accounts on your designated territory
  • To carry out tactical sales* work to support initiatives launched by the National Account Team
  • To accurately forecast & manage a sales promotional fund on your designated territory to grow sales in a profitable manner
  • To identify, evaluate, record and capitalise on new business opportunities within the designated area
  • Proficient use of company territory management & sales reporting equipment and software
  • Maintenance, development and implementation of a master journey plan/cycle adhering to various responsibilities in line with company policy
  • To co-ordinate all activities within the designated territory in line with targets set by the RSM
  • Negotiation of display space within Cash & Carry sector and retail outlets on an ongoing basis
  • To assist in the production and development of a retail portfolio, driven by Cash & Carry & wholesale customer base working together with the RSM and National Account Team
  • Liaison with Customer Services Department on a regular basis whereby documented agreements will be administered incorporating effective and relevant development plans
  • To present promotional plans, sales drives and sales strategies as required to customers, and the companies personnel
  • To conduct a minimum of five C&C/Wholesale/Retail calls per day
  • To conduct retail area checks & sales drives on an ongoing basis with documented findings
  • To arrange and implement demonstration days as required by line manager and/or customer needs
  • To report competitor activity to line manager on a daily basis, obtaining samples, pictures and pricing where possible
  • Trade show attendance, management and co-ordination as required by FSM& National Account Team.
ProfileThe successful Field Sales Executive will be:
  • Well organised, articulate and with high personal standards
  • Good presentation, relationship building, strong negotiation, numerate and computer literacy
  • Good strong communication skills with professionals
  • Ability to work closely within a team to include planning and liaison with various departments with the organisation and independently
  • Ability to absorb new information quickly and effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of FMCG would be beneficial but not essential
