Job Description

Are you an Engineering Project Manager looking for a new role Do you hold an Engineering Qualification Do you hold a IOSH ManagingSafely qualification Do you have experience working in an Electrical Environment Are you looking for a salary between £27,577 - £42,421 Are you located in Cardiff areIf you are a yes to the above questions then this may be the role for you.The details of the role£27,577 - 42,421 DOECardiff office based37.5 hours per week office hours between 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.You and your team will provide project engineering consultancy and project delivery requiring utility infrastructure connections, and integrations ranging from: -

  • Electric Vehicle Charging
  • Photovoltaic Provision
  • Battery Storage
  • Sub Metering of Electric Services
  • Other Electrical installation works
  • Site Survey and Distribution Analysis
  • Key responsabilities -
  • Day to day management of a portfolio of projects / clients.
  • Support the Service Delivery Manager (Electrical Works) to manage a team of administrative, Engineering and coordinating staff.
  • Assist with one-one sessions to develop the co-ordinators knowledge and project management skills.
  • Monitor and update relevant project databases to ensure accuracy / data integrity.
  • To work closely alongside the Delivery and Engineering Teams to provide a quality service to clients, within necessary deadlines.
  • Ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner following completion of work.
  • Production and up-keep of work-related spreadsheets / reports.
  • Assist with end of month financial process (sales and cost queries).
  • Assist with overdue and debt report.
  • Monitor and update relevant project databases to ensure accuracy / data integrity.
  • Education -
  • A Higher-level qualification in an engineering discipline
  • A Qualification in Project Management (Prince 2)
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Membership of a professional body such as the IET is desirable, where Incorporated/Chartered Engineer Status would be seen as an advantage.
  • Skill and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of EREC G81 and other Distribution Code documents relevant to the work in hand.
  • Conversant with IET Regulations, in particular BS7671
  • Has basic knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act and associated Codes of Practice
  • Skills that are Essential:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Able to interpret technical documents, specifications and drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent numerical and commercial reasoning, and problem solving
  • Quality compliance
  • Customer Service
  • Experienced background Project Management.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Has good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice
  • Experience of professional report writing and attending client progress meetings
  • Comply with all Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and management system requirements in your area of responsibility ensuring:
  • You are suitably trained and competent to carry out the works that you are assigned.
  • You use equipment and materials in line with training instructions and safe systems of work.
  • You assess workplaces to ensure they are safe and work in line with site / company rules and requirements.
  • You report all incidents, near misses, inadequate arrangements or unsafe situations immediately in line with company reporting procedures.
  • You participate in health and safety training, briefings, toolbox talks and conferences as required
  • You never interfere with anything provided in the interests of health and safety
  • You will stop working and seek guidance if you believe anything is unsafe.
