Employment and Skills Trainer - Swansea/Cardiff/BargoedDo you have a passion for people and helping them achieve their goals As an Employment and Skills trainer you will provide training to support people back to work, No two days will be the same as you work with a variety of people to upskill them on anythingfrom budgeting and CV writing to confidence building. Youll work with Employment Advisors and local employers to identify training needs and deliver courses which help people get closer to the labour market.At PeoplePlus we are on a mission to transform 1,000,000 lives by 2022 through training, education and financial advice. As a leading provider of UK wide employment support and training services, we are delighted to be building a brand-new team to deliveremployment advice, information and guidance and vocational training to those in long-term unemployment as part of the Department of Work and Pensions "Restart Programme".Job SummaryYoull be a people person; someone who can communicate and engage with a variety of people to develop and deliver training and evaluate outcomes and provide follow-on support. Youll facilitate group sessions either face to face or virtually to build skillsand confidence for those on the Restart Programme. You will be responsible for:

  • Assessindividual Participantability and support needs through a range of assessment mechanisms, including observational assessment, feeding back to theirDedicatedAdvisorto support barrier removal and action planning
  • Supportthe hardest to helpParticipants,includingthose with motivational issues, to complete their training and gain the key skills required to find work
  • Build a structured schedule of training activity to meet the needs of different cohort groups, working closely with the team to understand Participant training needs and likely routes into work.
  • Attend team meetings, one to onemeetingwith Employment Advisers and analyse Management Information (MI) data/trends from caseload.
  • Maintaining personal Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Log.
  • Update and maintain own knowledge of vocational sectors, contract requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Create and maintain constructive Learner feedback in all areas of delivery.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be able to build rapport with a wide range of participants, external employers, and colleagues. You will have a recognised teaching/training qualification or studying for one (Cityand Guilds 7407 or 7304, PTLLS/CTLLS/DTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education). Youll have experience of working with people to increase their employability and youll be able to handle the challenges that brings with it.
