DESIGN COORDINATOR - PERMANENT - MAIN CONTRACTOR£35,000 - £45,000 + package CardiffWe have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced construction Design Coordinator to work for a leading regional Main Contractor with a strong pipeline of projects and an excellent reputation as one of the best employers in region. The CompanyOur client is a highly reputable, secure and long-established regional main contractor. The company operates across building sectors including Hospitality,Leisure, commercial and Retail New build and refurbishment/Fitout projects. With a loyal and robust client base, the company has already secured a significant pipeline of work across South West for 2020. Typical projects are between £0.5Million - £5Million in value. The RoleAs Design Coordinator you will be responsible for:Key responsibilities:*Arranging and chairing the Design team meetings to lead the process with the consultants and sub contract designers, issuing minutes and ensuring the resulting actions are actioned *Collate and manage the contract specifications, drawing and related documents for the construction process *Carrying drawing reviews issuing comments then ensuring all comments are added accordingly to the design *Carry out technical reviews of any proposed works to ensure contractual and technical compliance. *Prepare and manage the Design and procurement schedule and issue information release schedules to set design target dates *Offer input and design reviews into the procurement process *Providing design support to Project Management teams. *Review and implement value engineering opportunities *Utilising specialist consultants coordinate the information and design to ensure BREEAM and Part L compliance are attained as required. *Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy Building Control compliance *Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy all planning conditions are discharged *Lead Design review workshop with the client / tenant to ensure understanding and satisfaction with proposed works *Manage the Design Change Proposals for client sign off *Submitting Design information to the client team and recording, tracking and closing out any comments and queries that arise *Issue, track and close out any requests for Information that arise to enable the design to be completed. *Assist in the collation of the O&M Health and Safety fileThe PersonThe successful candidate will likely have;*Experience as Design Coordinator working for a regional or national main contractor on new build Construction and refurbishment/fitout projects*Exposure to a variety of projects and sectors including major projects *A steady permanent background and a demonstrable track record in assisting in managing the commercial aspects of Construction projects of at least £2 Million +*Commutable between office and site location with some travel necessary The Reward *The successful candidates will be able to enjoy a consistent flow of projects, a financially secure business, autonomy to manage your own diary and an enjoyable working environment
