Job Description

Alchemy has an amazing opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a large education business in Cardiff as their Deputy Financial Controller on a contract until March 2024. This positions primary responsibility is to support the FinancialController in delivering a comprehensive, effective, and efficient transaction processing service for the Erasmus+ Program.Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing the processing of financial transactions related to the purchase to pay and recoveries processes, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring that financial records are maintained in accordance with accounting standards while concentratingon providing exceptional customer service.
  • Keep an eye on the workflow of purchase orders to make sure they are completed promptly, in accordance with service agreements, and in time for payments.
  • To perform a multitude of data and system reconciliations, including but not limited to project to bank, SAP to EPlusLink, and EPlusLink to Bank.
  • To help the Erasmus+ Financial Controller with month-end and year-end tasks to ensure they are completed effectively.
  • Whenever necessary, approve vendors in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Respond to inquiries about financial transactions from internal and external customers, handling them quickly and effectively in a way that improves our reputation.
  • Approving purchase orders while checking compliance with corporate regulations.
  • Support the Financial Controller in gathering data for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure that professionalism is displayed in your field and that your behaviours and priorities reflect the demands and viewpoints of your customers or clients.
  • To review outstanding debt, including recoveries, and to collaborate with the Programme Manager and the EU on waiver applications, preparations, and problem-solving.
  • Assist in the execution of operational plans for your own line of business.
  • Guarantee that old debt is handled in accordance with British Council policy.
  • Oversee the E+ Financial Control Officers work and make sure that everything is done accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist the larger financial team in accomplishing team objectives.
  • Management of relationships with stakeholders.
  • To draught and send reports to the programme manager and other parties involved as part of the monthly reporting cycle and as needed.
Skills:
  • Full AAT qualification or part qualified CCAB.
  • Expertise of supervising finance transactional processing.
  • Experience of working with different systems and reconciliations of those systems.
  • Able to spot potential noncompliance, identify it, and propose solutions.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
