Job Description

We’ve partnered with a rapidly growing business in the eco-sector and have an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to make strategic analytical decisions around home energy. This role is based in Cardiff’s city centre with the option to work between office and remotely. The successful candidate will be very keen, a self-starter who takes their own initiative and is passionate about carving into lots of data. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • WHAT ABOUT SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Data manipulation and analysis skills desirable
  • The ability to use datasets to produce information for live & research homes
  • Have experience in sentence programming, databases and version control
  • Understanding of statistical inference and how to build predictive models
  • Familiar with GitLab/ Jira, time series modelling, and clustering models is useful
  • Experience within the Energy Supply business is beneficial
  • Experience of working in a big data environment
  • Building Engineering and/ or energy market domain knowledge helpful
  • Excellent attention to detail and an innovative outlook
  • Strong communicator, comfortable working with various team members
  • A degree and perhaps post-graduate qualification beneficial
  • WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
  • Interpreting data into meaningful insights and information
  • Creating and managing an archive of modelling output and supporting various teams in interpreting energy use data
  • Providing forecasts, present live data, reports, and insights to aid strategic decisions and help optimise customers energy use
  • Identifying, extracting and analysing data for tool development
