Job Description

Job Description Summary Fixed term contract covering Maternity Leave.Reporting to the Customs Compliance Leader, The Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the Sites Quarterly Bill of Discharge and quarterly submittal to HMRC and managing direct reports in the customs compliance team. Job DescriptionResponsibilities

  • Responsible for completing the Sites Quarterly Bill of Discharge (circa 800 entries).
  • Responsible for Bill of Discharge Submittal to HMRC Each quarter.
  • Managing and overseeing the customs compliance team.
  • Provide Support to indirect reports under Cardiff Legal entity.
  • Support Operations Teams to ensure Customs compliance in Daily operations.
  • Maintain and Update Customs Data Resources and Work Instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting of Compliance status for all Import/Export Procedures
  • Provide Data for HMRC reports
  • Oversee and monitor daily use of Authorisations/Temporary Imports.
  • Provide Information to Team and Customers relating to HMRC requirements.
  • Support AEO and HMRC audits.
  • Deputise for the Customs Compliance Leader
Requirements
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Customs Procedures, and Regulations with strong knowledge of Inward Processing
  • Knowledge of AEO and Known Consignor
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake calculations (i.e. VAT and Duty)
  • Computer literacy skills, and capability with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple duties and meet deadlines in a consistent manner.
  • Experience working with SAP
Desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree / relevant diploma holder – Logistics and Supply Chain advantageous, other relevant experience will be considered
  • Previous experience / interaction with suppliers / vendors.
  • Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities.
